Does this scenario sound familiar to any couples out there (particularly you lady bloggers)?
It did to me when I stumbled upon it while trying to get some advice on a rather "irking" situation that has seemed to plague me the past two years. I am ALL for saying "thank you". For those who know me I am the QUEEN of "thank you" cards, little notes of appreciation and giving accolades (when deemed appropriate).
Perhaps I am stubborn, slightly inconsiderate, completely ungrateful. No, I kind of don't think that.
Rant Continues...
So my question is: When is "thanking" someone too much? Are some jobs deemed mine and some jobs deemed his? Should I "thank" him for putting a dish away, making the bed, folding a small load of laundry? Jobs that I do everyday- 20 times a day (with no "thank you" needed or expected). Aren't these menial tasks just keeping the family going? Shouldn't we each be pulling our own weight (so we don't end up living in filth, wearing dirty clothes and looking like absolute pigs)?
Hahaha, i love this!
ReplyDeleteFor us, we usually make effort to thank each other throughout the week for the little things that either I or he does. Making beds, laundry, cooking, cleaning...etc. When he gets home and notices its really clean, he usually thanks me and says how nice it looks. Same thing if he does a load of laundry for us...you get the idea!
