Technical Difficulties

Shermcat will continue to be on a bit of a hiatus due to the fact that my computer needed a little TLC from the friendly folks at Apple in Mission Viejo.
She's been giving me trouble for about six months and it turns out her hard drive was failing. So she's being cleansed and given a brand NEW hard drive (free of charge- thanks extended warranty!) and she will be back this week.
I'm NOT very tech savvy at all but I love my little MacBook. She got me through Mills, Saint Mary's and my everyday checking email and FB addiction. Last week was the fourth time in six months that she crashed on me, so I finally brought her in for a diagnosis. I got two options: buy a back up program from Apple or Costco for about $80.00-$200.00 (um... no thank you) and replace the hard drive or just erase everything and replace the hard drive. As I stood there 8 months pregnant, Emma fussing in her stroller next to me and what looked like hundreds of people flooding into the Apple store, I decided to erase it all and replace the hard drive. I couldn't handle the PRESSURE!
I basically erased four years of college, two years of grad school and hundreds of photos. What was I thinking ?! Luckily I'm a bit OCD and print all my work and file it - grad school is saved in files in the garage. My pictures are all printed and in photo books (chronologically labeled)- so they may not be on my computer anymore but at least they're in books. I think I lost most of college though but I doubt I'll need that work again. Crossing my fingers that I didn't mistakenly erase a file that I really need.
And although my obsessive organized nature may drive those around me crazy, including myself, it sure did save me!
