National Elementary Honor Society

A couple of weeks ago Grace came home with an extra large packet of papers saying she has been nominated for NEHS (National Elementary Honor Society). Some of you (certainly not yours truly) may remember this from high school as NHS (National Honor Society).
What an honor and I am beyond proud of Miss Grace! Today was the induction ceremony where Grace took the oath, obtained her NEHS identification card and pin (which she promptly attached to her uniform).
Sometimes I don't know where this lovely girl came from. She is a lot different than her mama was a kid. She is so smart, conscientious, responsible, kind, generous and all around AMAZING. I am so impressed with her academic and community achievements.
Grace entered the Orange County Annual Math Competition which is this Saturday. She has been practicing a lot at home and is super excited to compete. Wish her luck! We will be watching from the sidelines. I bet I wouldn't be able to do a quarter of the math problems she will be solving on Saturday - the girl is S.M.A.R.T.
