It's been a long time since I've taken the time to blog :)
I always say this at the end of summer: " I can't believe summer is already over!". June, July & August seem to fly by so fast! Yesterday I took Grace to the uniform store to buy her clothes for the upcoming school year. She starts FIFTH GRADE on Monday! I was really hoping that some of her clothes from last year would fit but the only item that fit was one of her zip up sweaters : / The uniform store (or her school) not sure which one, sets the prices and the clothes are so expensive! It bugs me because I know if I went to Target I could get way more for the money. But her school is super strict and all her clothes have to be perfect. It's a great school and the uniforms really cut down on the "oh no! what should I wear for school?!" moments :) And the oxford shirts, navy vests and plaid skirts are super cute (although a little warm for our endless summer that we experience in the OC).
What I really can't believe is that I will be the mother of a ten year old in two days! Double digits : this is a BIG birthday! We are celebrating all weekend long. First with her "friends" party at Powell's Sweet Shoppe for a candy overload and then a family BBQ. Grace's Nana & Papa are flying in from New Mexico and we are very excited that they can be apart of the celebration. I think we are all having a hard time believing 10 years has gone by since Grace was born. Another 10 years and she'll be twenty ... it goes by so fast!
My kiddos are definitely keeping me busy! Grace is playing soccer, golf & volleyball. Hello, little Miss. Athlete :) We all (all meaning myself, the hubs, grandma & grandpa) take turns driving G around to all her activities. Thank goodness I have help driving because it is definitely a challenge loading the babies in the car over & over each day.
Miss. Lily Mae is sleeping in her co-sleeper bassinet at night. No more of Mommy & Daddy's bed! Our house is somewhat sane again :) We put her in the bonus room since she is not quite ready to share a room with Emma. She's waking up twice and sometimes only once. Which is way better than the 4 or 5 times a night she was waking prior to the sleeping change. My mom had the brilliant idea of getting a tempurpedic style bath mat to put over the co-sleeper mattress (since it is kind of hard), then put the sheet over it. It makes a world of difference! It's not too soft but it's so much better than just the mattress. You can try it with a pack n' play as well because it's the same type of mattress. It worked for us :)
I joined a MOMS group here in South Laguna Niguel. It's been so nice to get out of the house once a week and socialize with other moms and their kids. Most of the kids are around Emma's age. There are a few babies. Emma has a lot of fun and I'm having a lot of fun meeting other moms in the area :) Today we had a park picnic and last week a "coffee" date at one of the moms homes - who actually lives two blocks down from us. All the ladies are super sweet and so are their kids.
We celebrated my Dad's birthday last week with dinner at the Country Club and cake at our home. I have pictures on my iphone but don't know how to upload them to my blog : / If you are reading this and know how please let me know. We had a really fun night celebrating my Dad!
That's about it. I don't really have any pictures to share. I leave you with one of Emma pushing her "twins" stroller that she got from her birthday. I will definitely be posting pictures of Grace's birthday and the first day of school next week :)
