Resolutions

One of my New Year's resolutions is to READ MORE!
I really enjoy reading but sometimes life gets so busy that I can't find the time. Having two babies in two years puts life in fast forward! And keeping up after five people in the house, consumes my days! However, now that Lily is almost one and we FINALLY have a schedule, I am all set to start my "read more" resolution!
First book on the list: "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," Author: Rebecca Skloot. I am half way through this book and I can hardly put it down! It is a MUST read. It is the story of Henrietta Lacks and the medical revolution of her HeLa cells. It is not solely a medical/ science related book. It is the story of family, ethics, medicine, scientific discovery, and race. It is really a moving story.
Second book on the list: "Look Me In The Eye", Author: John Robison. I couldn't resist this when I saw it in the Target book section. I haven't started it yet but the Special Ed teacher in me knows that I will LOVE this book. It is about the life of a young boy with Aspergers. I am really looking forward to starting this book!
Third book on the list: "The Glass Castle", Author: Jeannette Walls. This book is about a dysfunctional family. Well, dysfunctional parents and the story of their children who chose a different life. I believe that their parents are homeless ( or very poor) and alcoholics . This book might be a little depressing but, it has been on the New York Times Bestseller list so I thought I would give it a try. We shall see! I don't think I will get to this until mid-spring.
It is late January and I am half way through HeLa. I think I am doing pretty good considering the book is about 360 pages! And I am juggling children and home responsibilities. I need more books to add to my list. Leave me a comment with some suggestions!
