It's hard to believe that September is coming to an end ... bring on the holidays! Sherman and I were just talking tonight about holiday plans & budgeting for the holidays when you have a BIG family (ie: four kiddos)!
Time for kiddo updates :)
Lily had her six month check up on Monday. She is 17 lbs and in the 70th percentile for height & weight. Oh my goodness ... I finally have a petite child!! Emma was 17 lbs at 2.5 months old and I can't remember at what month G was 17 lbs (it has been 10 years!). Lily had a great visit and is meeting all her milestones. I'm one happy mama :) However Monday night was rough, vaccines are the worst :(
Emma had a check up that coincided with Lily's. Emma has been obsessed with drinking juice, milk & water. She has been wetting her diaper non- stop. So I started doing some internet research. How is it that whenever I do "internet" research the worst possible scenario pops up? I was sure Emma had diabetes and I started mildly freaking out. Would I have to start giving Emma insulin shots? Was she going to be like Dawn on "The Babysitters Club" who passed out while on her first date?! ( so random the "TBC" reference but I bought the 90's classic for Grace's b-day and I think I love watching it more than she does!). Every 10 year old girl must own "TBC" - it's a right of passage. Anyways while at the doctor (which took two hours ) Emma had her blood taken and urine tested. Since Em's can't do her business in a cup yet they had to put a little bag in her diaper. It was a mess. Emma's pee busted through the bag and they couldn't use it. So the nurse tried again and this time she wouldn't pee. It had been two ours since we arrived at our appointment and I was getting more frustrated & flustered than the girls. So we left and went to the grocery store ( I promised Emma a cookie). It just so happened that this particular Ralphs (which is not near our house - so we NEVER shop here) had those "cool" carts with the car attached. Emma went BANANAS! Driving the car while eating a pink frosting covered cookie totally made up for the flu shot, blood work and urine bag that Em's experienced at our appointment. The doctor is pretty sure that Emma is not diabetic. The girl just likes her "jjjjjuice" (emphasis on the "j")!
Enough about our pediatrician debacle. Grace is off at Astrocamp! We miss her and I am thinking about her ALL. THE. TIME! Right now (9p.m.) it's "lights out" in her cabin and I hope she can sleep well. She was a bit nervous leaving today but also excited to spend 3 days with her friends. I think this will be such a growing and maturing experience for Grace. I can't wait to hear about her three days at camp and I hope she takes a lot of pictures. We were so prepared and packed for camp three days ago to avoid any "last minute" stress. I hate stressful mornings and feel so terrible for my kids when things are rushed & stressful around the house. I feel confident that Grace is with great people, wonderful teachers, sweet friends and everything she could possibly need!
On another note - two more days until Autumn! I couldn't wait any longer - I had to break out our Halloween / Fall decor! Having kids make the holidays so much more fun. Especially seeing Emma get so excited about the Halloween decor ( G is used to it and L is too young). We received a few Halloween costume catalogs in the mail and Emma is obsessed with looking at the Princess Costumes! It's so cute to see her interested and asking to be a "pinces" for Halloween!
I'm not posting any pics of our decor until October 1st - I'm embarrassed that out house is decked out this early!
As you can see from the pics we had a fun day at CA - Adventure over the weekend!
Sherm is about ready to hand off Lily to me - so I think my blogging time is up :)
Happy "soon to be" Autumn :)
