HodgePodge

1. I wish I were a better "blogger". I've been trying for the last 2o minutes to correct the narrow paragraphs of text that appears on my page. Can't figure it out : /
2. This morning we had our weekly music class. Or as Emma likes to call it "moo-zak". Emma loves music class and always gives her teacher Miss. Brooke a big hug when we see her. Emma likes to sit in her lap for the majority of the class and Miss. Brooke is so sweet for letting her stay there. There is another 7 month old baby in the class named Lily and we always try to sit by her. The two Lily's have fun rolling around together (literally).
3. Grace had her first Cotillion class last week at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott. The attire is semi-formal. Grace wore one of my dresses (that I no longer wear at the age of 31) and my black ballet flats. I can't believe we wear the same size shoe! She really liked the class however the dancing with boys part was a little awkward. I'm not ready for junior high dances next year!
4. Emma and Lily have been sick with a yucky cold since last Thursday. Their fever broke on Sunday and now it's just a runny nose. I was sick over the weekend but feeling much better this week.
5. Not sure if it is the change in seasons but I have been cooking up a storm! Tonight I'm making baked ziti with a recipe that I found on allrecipes.com. This is my "go-to" website for recipes. I'm lazy about looking through cookbooks!
6. I had the most embarrassing thing happen to me at Trader Joe's today while we were checking out. Emma was in the front of the cart and Lily in the Baby Bjorn. Emma was eating a pumpkin muffin that she got as a sample. As I finished up paying, the bagger gave Emma a roll of stickers so of course she just drops her muffin on the floor and grabs the stickers. I bend over (mind you with Lily strapped to the front of me to pick up the muffin) it was gross from the ground and Emma's saliva. Anyways the middle aged checker put out his hand and it didn't even cross my mind that he was offering to take the wet and dirty muffin. This is where it gets embarrassing. I thought he wanted to hold my hand ... so I put my hand on his!!! Oh my gosh ... he gave me the weirdest look and motioned towards the muffin I was holding. I awkwardly apologized and handed him the muffin. I heard people chuckling and I ran out of there as quickly as I could with a screaming two year old and a baby strapped to my chest. When he outstretched his hand I honestly thought he was trying to give support since my kids were acting up and I didn't want to insult him. I'm still mortified by it all and certainly not going back to TJ's anytime soon!

  1. Oh I hope you don't feel too bad about that! I've done so many foolish things when I'm out and about with my kiddos - they steal our brain cells!
